Nexstar Media Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST), today announced the promotion of Cory Gylock to vice president and general manager of its broadcast and digital operations at La Crosse/Eau Claire, Wisconsin ( DMA #129), including WLAX-TV (FOX) and WEUX-TV (FOX), wiproud.com and their associated digital and social media channels. Mr. Gylock succeeds Judson Beck, who was named vice president and general manager of media operations for Nexstar in Green Bay/Marquette, Mich., in May. He will start immediately and report to Traci Wilkinson, Senior Vice President and Regional Director of the Broadcast Division of Nexstar Media Inc.

Mr. Gylock is very familiar with the viewers and advertisers of La Crosse/Eau Claire and Western Wisconsin, as well as Nexstar, having held various sales positions with the company since 2012, and as General Manager of Sales at WLAX-TV/WEUX-TV since late 2020. During his tenure, Mr. Gylock and his team have consistently demonstrated their ability to grow the annual revenue of both TV stations through a variety of unique, innovative solutions and cross-platform for advertisers. Under his leadership, WLAX-TV/WEUX-TV drove substantial advertising growth for new businesses, generated double-digit annual increases in digital revenue, and set station records for advertising revenue related to sports content.

Mr. Gylock also spearheaded the creation and development of several prominent community sponsorships during his time at WLAX-TV/WEUX-TV, including “County by County,” which highlights local counties across western Wisconsin in 30-minute reports and special programs broadcast. quarterly throughout the year, and “Harvesting Heroes”, which features area farmers from the start of the harvest season in March until the end of the harvest season in November. Mr. Gylock also developed and hosted “FOX Fantasy Insiders”, a web program at wiproud.com, which focuses on fantasy sports during the football season. He also helped launch “Destination Football”, a sponsored franchise dedicated to the WLAX-TV/WEUX-TV brand as the home of college and professional football in Western Wisconsin through unique promotional elements at the antenna and online.

Prior to serving as General Sales Manager, Mr. Gylock served as Local Sales Manager for WLAX-TV/WEUX-TV from 2015 to the end of 2020. He joined the stations after working as an Account Executive for three years at the Nexstar television station in Marquette. , Michigan, as of 2012.

Mr. Gylock is deeply involved in the La Crosse and Eau Claire communities, serving as a member of the Young Professionals Committee for the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and the Gateway Area Council Golf Outing Committee for the Boy Scouts of America/ Wisconsin. He has also volunteered for organizations such as the Coulee Area Hunger Task Force, Habitat for Humanity, and the Pumphouse Regional Arts Center. Mr. Gylock earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Northern Michigan University. He and his wife, Paige, have been married for five years.
